Day 4
At this point I’ve lost track for the most part of what day it actually is. I was told it was Sunday.
This is our first day with no scheduled plans.
Started our day with the first breakfast out at a little coffee shop down the street called the Urban Grind. The coffee was strong and the food was good. I had the Westend Brekkie which was potatoes, a couple poached eggs, veggies, with some kind of peanut and Siracha sauce. Pretty darn good. My wife had the breakfast burrito. Couldn’t tell you what was in it or if it was good because I didn’t order it. She said it was good but she has questionable taste since she married me.
After that we went for a walk down by the bay. Saw the shipwreck down by the pier. An old wooden boat that must have gotten damaged in a storm and left there. Walked by some ball fields, rugby, football, etc. We also saw our fist Hooker. Now this is not a sex worker. Although side bar it is legal to sell sex in Ireland but illegal to buy it. At least that’s what the interwebs told me. I only looked that up because down the street from us there are a few apartments that have red lights on every night.
Anyway back to the Hooker. It’s a traditional fishing vessel. A sail boat with dark maroon sails. The sails are that color from how they painted them back in the day from a mixture of tree bark or something like that. It was cool to see one out on the water moving.
We walked, and walked, and walked with the occasional stop in a gift shop for my wife to do the obligatory gift buying for our daughter, her coworkers, etc.

The ISU fans have started to arrive. Saw more today than the previous days and more KSU
fans as well. After all that walking it was time for a drink. We stopped into Monroe’s and I made it a Redbreast 12 afternoon while listening to American southern Jazz from the band that was playing. We grabbed a slice of pizza for lunch (ok it was 3:30 by then) and went back to the Airbnb.
After resting for an hour or so we set off again to wander some more. A few stops into pubs, some loaded French fries for dinner, and then back to Monroe’s for sitting outside and drinking before calling it a day around 9:30 and heading back to the crib. All in all a good day.
