Desmond King
Desmond King II is a Detroit native, former Iowa Hawkeyes standout, and NFL All-Pro defensive back. At Iowa, he earned All-America honors and won the 2015 Jim Thorpe Award, recognizing the nation’s top defensive back. His eight interceptions that season tied Iowa’s single-season record. He returned for his senior year and graduated in December 2016. Official Athletics Website
Selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, King made his mark as both a defender and return specialist. In 2018, he earned first-team All-Pro honors at defensive back and second-team All-Pro honors as a punt returner, bringing the instincts and versatility that defined his Hawkeye career to the NFL.
